Thai massage, dinner with Georgians friends, PCR test

I spent my last day in Georgia in Tbilisi as I needed to get a PCR test in order to fly home. It was a bit stressful waiting for the results because the lab closed at 6:00pm (I got my test when they opened at 10:00am) and I didn't get the email until 5:58 (and the lab was a 20 min taxi ride away).

For the rest of the day, we ticked off things that we hadn't done yet. We finally had the kachapuri with egg - super yummy. Next, I got my 1st ever Thai massage. Wow! It is like having someone make your body do yoga while sort of drumming on you at the same time. It was a combination of pleasure pain, but I felt so good afterwards.

For our last thing in Tbilisi, we went out to dinner with David (alpinist), his wife, Natia, and his "uncle". This was one of my trip highlights. The place was called Z10 and it was this oasis tucked in behind some of the Georgian museums. It was another hot day, but there were water misters to keep us cool.

David did all of the ordering (Georgian fusion food), including plenty of tasty wine. So, drinking good Georgian wine was another thing I checked off on my last day. Apparently, if you have a Georgian dinner party, you need to plan on 3-4 liters of wine per person. This is partly because the wine is good and most Georgians enjoy a beverage, but they also like to have long meaningful conversations with each other (and it's nice to do it over wine 🍷). The food was SO GOOD and the company was excellent. We learned a lot about Georgian culture and the people. Plus, we didn't leave the restaurant until 12:45am, which was good timing for me to just head to the airport. It was a great way to wrap up my trip. Except for one last stop in Istanbul, my adventure was wrapped up.
